Jewelry by Jennell (JxJ) Destinctive Artisan Handcrafted Designs

Gaynell's Boutique was established in June 1991. The business was named in honor of my grandmother. The original business was a fashion shop since my childhood dream was to become a fashion designer.

My love for making things eventually led me to making jewelry. I use semi-precious and precious metals and stones. I also use shells, beads, and various findings. The jewelry I produce is handcrafted and inspired by nature and my surroundings. The objects I design reflect metal working, enameling, stone setting, inlaying, and other processes. I make ceramic beads from Egyptian paste. Egyptian Paste (Faience) is an ancient form of clay that contains the glaze. When the item is fired the glaze comes to the surface. Objects found in King Tutankhamun's tomb were made of faience.

I am PMC (Precious Metal Clay) certified. PMC is a patented material developed in Japan. Metal particles are suspended in a clay base when fired silver or gold is produced. PMC is interesting to work with therefore, I use it in many of my designs.

Jewelry by Jennell represents my original designs and my version of some classic designs. Jennell is the middle name given to me by Gaynell. It is a combination of Gaynell and Jenny my paternal grandmother’s name.
