This turquoise blue tube bead is attached to a leather
cord loop. The 1 1/2 in. x 5/8 in. bead is made from
faience or Egyptian Paste. Faience is an ancient form
of clay or ceramic. Items found in King Tut's tomb were
made from this type of clay. The unique property of this
clay is that the glaze is in the clay and it comes to the
surface when it is fired.
