This handcrafted pendant is made from Faience or Egyptian
Paste. Faience is an ancient form of clay items found in King
Tut's tomb were made from this type of clay. The unique qual-
ity of this clay is that the glaze is in the clay and it comes to
the surface when the clay is fired. This appealed to me since
it eliminated several processing steps. However, the firing pro-
cess does present a challenge in keeping the piece from fusing
to the things it touches.
The pendant is attached to medium brown suede cord.
The 30 in. cord closes with a knot allowing for a shorter
length if desired.
