This pendant combines the two popular colors of the
ancient Egyptians turquoise blue and lapis blue. This
bead is made from Egyptian Paste or Faience an
ancient form of clay. Items found in King Tut's tomb
were made of Faience. The unique quality of faience
is that the glaze is in the clay and it comes to the surface
when fired.
The challenge of firing Faience promoted the design of
this pendant. The two beads fused together when fired.
The turquoise blue bead is 1 1/2-in. x 1/2-in. and the lapis
blue bead is 1-in. in diameter. This pendant hangs on a
20-in. black leather cord with a barrel clasp.
