While observing a map of the continent of Africa, the outline of a
woman's face appeared to me. I proceeded to design this image.
There are several versions of this theme. My daughter, Nichelle,
suggested the name 'USO' which means face in Swahili. I requested
and received a design copyright.
This 'USO' is crafted from .999 Silver Clay. The Silver Clay has Fine
Silver particles suspended in a binder that burns away when fired
leaving Fine Silver.
This 'USO' FS-S1 is 1 1/4-inches x 1-inch (33mm x 26mm x2mm).
For this image I rolled the Silver Metal Clay, cut out the design and
carved the braids.
The North, West and Central parts of Africa are represented by the
hair (braids). East and part of South Africa are depicted in the face
and neck.
The necklace has an 18-inch black Leather Cord.
